When Dynamic Speakers Inc. approached WR Designs to redesign their site, they gave me an interesting description of what they needed to achieve – an approachable, yet professional website design which was nothing like others in their market. WR Designs choose a CMS (Content Management System) on a case-by-case basis but very often I choose to build a website design in WordPress, due to its immense flexibility in developing functionality and its ability not to sacrifice design flexibility.
The sheer size of the website, along with the need for mobile compatibility brought website structure into the mix. Without diluting the volume of content, I needed to make sure all content was accessible but without too many menus, which could cause mobile users in particular, some headaches.
Being SEO-minded meant WR Designs was able to introduce search-friendly methods into this site with two key aspects changing with the redesign:
Their old site had what is called ‘dynamic URLs’ rather than readable, descriptive ones. Thankfully WordPress makes this fairly easy, so long as pages were automatically adding and done correctly.
The final website design was in keeping with Dynamic Speakers Inc. branding and goals. They can, and do, keep it updated and the speakers update automatically. The site is well-trafficked and ranks well.
